Challenge

As the Boulder Chamber Orchestra celebrated its 10th anniversary, the Founder/Conductor sought a brand refresh to better reflect the orchestra’s artistic vision. The existing printed program failed to capture the professionalism and elegance that the orchestra embodied.

Strategy

Conduct a thorough brand audit and create a visually striking printed program that would resonate with the audience, and beautifully showcase each of the artists. By shifting from a utilitarian format to a refined presentation, we aimed to enhance audience engagement and elevate the orchestra’s image.

Tactics

We completely transformed the program design, moving from a over-populated tri-fold to a small, matte-finished booklet with a high-quality cover. The design switched from a dark, cluttered background to an elegant white backdrop featuring beautifully cropped instrument images. We also organized professional photography for each musician, replacing tiny headshots with striking, cohesive images that highlighted their talent.

Results

The new program design received enthusiastic feedback from patrons, who appreciated its elegance and professionalism. This quality shift led to increased audience engagement, with many expressing a deeper connection to the musicians and the orchestra’s mission. Ultimately, the refreshed brand positioned the Boulder Chamber Orchestra as a leader in the local arts community, fostering new partnerships and boosting ticket sales.
